Our Pre-School Gymnastics programme at Pennine Gymnastics Club is specially designed to help young children develop important physical, social, and confidence-building skills through fun gymnastics activities and play.
These preschool gymnastics classes introduce children to key early movement patterns such as balancing, climbing, jumping, and rolling, while also helping them learn valuable life skills like listening, following instructions, taking turns, and building confidence in a structured environment.
We offer a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children from confident walkers up to 4 years old, where every child can explore movement and develop at their own pace. Sessions take place in the best-equipped gymnastics facilities in Huddersfield, giving children the perfect space to learn and grow.
Our sessions are led by experienced, enthusiastic, and professionally qualified gymnastics coaches who understand early childhood development.
Whether your child is taking their first steps into gymnastics or already loves to climb, jump and explore, our preschool programme helps build the foundations for an active and confident future.
At Pennine Gymnastics Club we offer three different toddler and preschool gymnastics classes, designed to support children at different stages of development:
We understand that every child develops at their own pace, so the age ranges listed are a guide only. Our coaching team will help ensure your child joins the class that best suits their age, confidence, and stage of development.

Mini Roos is our parent and toddler gymnastics class for children who are confidently walking.
Parents stay with their child on the gym floor as they explore a range of gymnastics equipment and activity circuits designed to support early physical development.
During these sessions children develop:
Repetition is an important part of learning at this age, so children have plenty of opportunities to practise movements and become comfortable using the equipment.
Sessions also include short circle time activities that encourage movement, rhythm, and early gymnastics skills while helping children interact with others in a fun and supportive environment.
Jumping Joeys is a structured parent-assisted gymnastics class for children aged 2.5 to 3.5 years.
Parents support their child as they move through fun gymnastics circuits and games, using equipment such as:
These sessions help children develop balance, coordination, strength, and movement control, while also introducing the structure of a gymnastics class.
Children gradually gain confidence while learning to listen, follow instructions, and participate in group activities.
Kangaroo Kids is designed for children aged 3 years to school age who are ready to take part in gymnastics classes independently without parents on the gym floor.
Parents can watch from our viewing gallery while children build independence and confidence in a structured gymnastics session.
During these classes children begin learning basic gymnastics skills, including:
These sessions help children develop the confidence, coordination, and physical skills needed to progress into our recreational gymnastics programme when they start school.
Sessions cost £8.00 - £10.00 per hour, with no commitments or notice period needed.
